My friend is having very bad latency issues at peak times only; is everyone else having this too with the Azeroth/Kalimdor/Outlands and / or Dungeons ?
I can tell you whats going wrong, the fact we all chose Orange.
Well as a matter of fact I didn't choose Orange, I chose Freeserve when it was a really good service, and there was warnings if the service went down. Then Wanadoo came along and muddle a bit up, made it a bit of an annoyance.
Orange take the biscuit with the phone service. It's not physically possible to say you get "Free calls" when neither end of the line can hear what you are saying.
12 weeks I've been waiting for a regrade order. Lieing b****** is all I have to say about them.
Oh yeh and I can't do any raids on WoW - the delay and ping is phenomonal
Yeah i have the same problems guys, i play wow on Orange broadband and its soooo laggy, more so at peak times.... atm i just cant play it, and i've noticed surfing the net is much slower now. Running a speed test gives me results that you would expect from a 56k modem sometimes (most recent test says my download speed is only 0.2 meg)
Can't wait to ditch Orange ****band and start playing wow at full speed again
Ive the same problems with WoW and Orange. Speeds slow down at peak time from 6 or 7 mb to 100-300 kps download and I get unplayable lag with warcraft.
Ive run loads of traceroutes during these times and it seem the network is losing random packets at random hops. This also has been happening on counterstike and other games. When the connection normalises out of peak time the traceroutes run fine with no lost packets.
SORT IT OUT TO f**** ORANGE!
*sigh*
Anyway I tried calling India and they told me initially the network was fine, just as the website and the automated network status report on the helpline stated. After telling them repeatedly that nothing had changed at my end in months regarding equipment and that I had tried using two different routers (one being the livebox) and 3 different pc's, wired and wirelessly they admitted that there were known issues with the network. I said I had been thinking of switching isps and they said to stick with them for the rest of the MONTH! as their technicians were working on it. I asked if they could actually update their users as to the status of the repairs and they said they would. Then she started talking about sending me a new livebox and doing a line test at which point I hung up, entirely despondent.
