Orange technical support and escalation team are useless. I am losing my patience now because they haven't solve my problem for 3 months now. Phoned them several times and nothing happened. I can't use my phone which is connected to the livebox. The phone and @ light are solid and I have no problem with my broadband/internet connection. Tried changing my numbers 3x now but still no dialtone. Tried ringing the number, and it rungs, phone light's flashing but cannot hear a ring from outside. Another issue is if I turn off the power on the livebox and turn it on again, I can hear a dialtone but when the phone sign light comes up on the livebox followed by a tick/click inside the livebox, the dialtone disappear. And back to no dialtone at all again.
When the phone light flashes when a call comes in can you pick it up and answer them? Do you hear them, they hear you, etc? You've tried other handsets on the line?
That happened to me, you have to make sure you're using a proper one, cant remember the proper name, but the ones that make the "beep" when you dial lol

I've tried 3 different handsets, all the same no dialtone. When the phone light flashes when a call comes in, I cannot hear a ring from the phone handset..then call goes to voice mail. Any ideas or suggestions to solve this???

That part no, if you've tried 3 handsets then it's more likely a system problem or something wrong with the box. However, did any of the phones you tried use it's own power supply or were they all just basic handsets that only connect to the livebox?
Also does the service actually work at all? Like I said before, if someone calls it the phone light flashes to show this, if you then pickup the phone does it work, can they hear you or you hear them at all?

Two phones have their own power supply and the other none. The system actually dont work now. When someone calls, I can see only flashing phone light and when I pick up the phone I can hear no ringing and they can't hear me. The system works before for about 2 to 3 weeks from new then just gone, the dialtone disappear and that's how my problem started.
Tried asking for a replacement box but they just can't replace because they're saying that there's no problem with the livebox.
I have jumped through all of the Orange support hoops but still do not have any resolutions. It is being 'escalated' but I don't have much confidence in them.
To me it definately sounds like a livebox hardware issue. The telephone light flashes when there is an incoming call, but the phone doesn't ring. Therefore, the livebox is receiving the call, just not forwarding it correctly to the phone socket.
Talk service stopped working in January. A phone call produced a new adapter - no change.
Since then emails & letters have just produced a response that I should call the technical support team.
Finally did today, spent about 20mins on the phone with no resolution & no offer by Orange to fix the problem.
Phone gives 3 pips rather than 5 when receiver lifted, then dial tone, dial but then engaged tone. Making a call results in internet connection being lost for a few minutes.
Technical support had me in Livebox configuration, repeatedly disconnecting & reconnecting to internet because my IP address needed to start with 84, whereas it never changed from starting with 91.
This seemed to exhaust repair options, no solution offered & request for new Livebox rejected as "internet connection is working, therefore Livebox OK".
Orange are hopeless!
I have exactly the same problem. Have just tried the third handset and still no dial tone even though the red phone light is on which flickers if you call the number and rings then goes onto answerphone. Have tried two adaptors and been through resetting everything with Orange. Really fed up now. Has anyone had any resolutions to this?
I have faced all the issues that are described here. After only 6 months I managed to cancel my contract with Orange on the grounds of breach of contract , as part of the Broadband Unlimited service they must provide 3 elements as part of clause 4.2 as follows:
4.2 Broadband Unlimited comprises Three main elements. The first is the right to download files over the Internet in excess of the Usage Allowance applicable to Broadband Starter, the second is the provision of a higher connection speed (subject to any applicable technical restrictions) and the third is the Talk Service which enables you to make and receive phone calls over the Internet.
Where they are not providing one of these elements (i.e. Talk Service)and you have given them sufficient time to resolve it (I gave 6 weeks) then cancel the contract. Note if you do this they will not give you a MAC code if you are in the minimum period (unless you pay the cancellation fee). orange took 7 days to remove the tag from the line and then BT took just 5 days to connect. I must say that BT have been outstanding, they communicate with you, call when they say they will, uptdate by SMS / Email regularly and provide a rock solid service. Following a recent thunderstorm both my both Orange VOIP phone service died and that provided by another company. The latter was the result of equipment failure ie Linksys PAP2 being zapped by the storm.
Resetting the Live box brought back the broadband system but no dial tone or ring current to the phone connected to the Orange voip system.
If you turn of the power to the live box the phone will connect across the normal BT inline so this isolates the cable and the phone from the equation.
If I call my Orange VOIP number the LED on the LIVe boxes flashes indicating an incoming call. Therefore this can only point to a failure in the circuit in the live box that generates ring current and dial supervisory tone ie dial tone.
I have put these arguement to both the technical people in India and customer support here in the UK . The latter have agreed to replace the live box.
Had the same problem here - has been working fine for months then one day phone is dead, with the same symptoms described above.
Did the usual powercycle and factory reset of the Livebox and still nothing so called tech support - they're sending out a new phone adaptor which I should get in the next couple of days.
I assume if that doesn't do the trick it'll be a new Livebox, but I'll keep you posted

My replacement Live box arrived today and I was able to get it working on the internet within a short time. I gave the Orange my new MAC code and was able to make and receive calls but had no ring current.
It turned out that to be a problem with the RJ11 adaptor. I had been using one with four wires but for some reason that did not allowed ring current through to the phone. Only the one with two cables connected worked.
Orange need to address the following the problem: There technical support in India are clearly following a script / flow chart which inevitably leads to rebooting the live box when all else fails. This was totally unnecessary in my case since all that was required was for them to ask for the MAC address of my new live box to get the phone working. The ringing problem I sorted out by trial and error.
A word on Orange. My experience with Orange leads me to believe that they have a over subscribed product leading to slow internet connection in the evening. Im sure this will improve with time.
However although not perfect their customer support has endevoured to help me sort this and other problems out with relative ease
