Blasted wanadoo, My connection has just started running very slow. Its supposed to be a 2mb connection, my computer even registers it as a 2mb conection but my download speed is worse than dial up. I have found it is almost impossible to speak with the same person twice at there call centre, and every time i ring i am asked to do the same troubleshooting.
I am a computer hardware engineer and i know for sure that my computer and modem are fine, so the problem is not at my end. The other day i managed to convince them of this and was told they would perform a line check, "Ring back in 2 hours they said". So i called them 2 hours later and was told it actually takes 24 hours to do the line check. 24 hours later ime told there is no problem, so the said they would get BT to check the line. Forgive me if ime wrong but would they not have to speak to BT to check the line in the first place, I think no check was ever made.
But still it gets worse, Wanadoo not only cause trouble at home but also at work, I get customers bringing me there computers saying there broardband is not working. I check these computers find them to be working fine, i then end up in the middle, i say its wanadoo, wanadoo say its the computer, and this will go on for quite a long time leaving me with one very angry customer. The amount of computers i have had to refund because of the ISP's failure to solve there problem must be huge. I must admit wanadoo are not the only company guilty of this.
Just to update, i phoned wnadoo again today and after going through the same troubleshooting AGAIN!!!!!! I was told that there is a possible fault with the line, I was told it would be submitted to BT, Great thats whats the last guy i spoke to on sunday said, Seems the last guy forgot to submit my problem to BT. GRRRRRRRRRRRR
I subscribe to the 2mg broadband service from Wanadoo, and while I subscribe doesnt mean I get. My actual speed is 1.1mgb and when I spoke to wanadoo spokesperson I was informed it was possible BT exchange at fault and that when BT make there exchange capable they will upgrade my speed without warning I have had broadband for about 1 year now and its seems to get slower most days I sit waiting for webpages as I did when I signed up to this forum in fact I sent the completed form and waited , nothing happenned I walked my dog came back, nothing happened!!! so consquently I am signed in as guest.
Thanks for suggestions But as far as I know Im virus free. I have ant-virus software which updates every 4 hrs ,I have a tried and tested firewall and many spyware fighters (ie.) spybot, ad-aware, which I run frequently but if you can suggest how and where a virus might be lurking please help.
Ive heard that Wanadoo are more likely to penilize for downloading video and using peer to peer ie bitcomet, and telephony, over the internet .
What does get my goat is wanadoos claim that 8meg broadband is avalable and for the price I pay I only get 1.1mbps
those antispyware are very good, but there are others too......
my own experience with ISPs (not just wanadoo) is that the spiel over uninstalling/reinstalling, plugging unplugging blah blah is because more often than not the probs are user related.
I'm not saying yours are, though! I am trying to find out if you can rule out ALL problems your end so that you can go back to them and tell them just that!
1. What Antivirus do you use?

I have been a customer of Wanadoo for around 6 years now, when they were Freeserve. I started with 56k dial up, then 512 BB then 1MB (which I paid £20 for!) and now I have been upgraded to 2MB (was free because I asked and threatened to leave). Well since the 2MB has been running, its been all over the place.
Sometimes I can get speeds of up to 160 other times its so slow at around 5. I also receive an error every 30 seconds ( I find this info in the Modem properties.) I'm using and old Alcatel Speedtouch USB Modem (green sting-ray looking one)
Every hour or so I get cut off and have to rely on auto re-dial to reconnect me. This has only starting happening since I've gone to 2MB BB. I'm on and old premium package of unlimited use (which I need) for £27.99 a month - I'm guessing that I can get the same for less with someone else. I'm angry as these are the first big problems that I've had.
I just called the help line and was told to call one of the Premium Rate no.s -I gave that a miss as its a waste of my time and money.

Repeatedly pressing the 'submit' button does it. Posts sometimes take a while to submit, and sometimes the page times out while you're waiting. People, check your post has landed before going back and clicking on 'submit' again.
I thankyou for your advice, Smallbrainfield. But I wasnt talking about my one it was the one above my post luckstar69, posted 15 times and counting at different times of the day, and once this am 11/04/06 Alistair .....

Hi guys
I am aware of this problem... It seems to be intermittent. I have a few people working on it right now...
In the meantime, as much as I hate to say it, it is probably best to switch of your "Notify me when a reply is posted" option. This can be found at the bottom of the posts/messages or you can click the link on one of the emails that you receive.

I know it wasn't you, man. I've been on messageboards before where multiple posts are a problem.
I must say, Luckstar69 was rather eager to make his or her point, wasn't he/she?
