This is a lot like the stuff about using a speedtouch modem to connect so a livebox then can. It's anecdotal and very random in when it does and doesn't work. By all means try it but don't expect it to solve everything.
still working here. no problems. no regular drops as before. fingers crossed.
oh - and i'm not using a livebox. got my own Linksys combo wireless/router. i dont fancy somebody from India having backdoor access to my home network - hence the livebox is still in its box.

I can assure you - the only way I can get my LiveBox to connect is by establishing a connection with my Speedtouch 330 first, following the process I outline in this thread. When I use that procedure, I can reconnect 9 times out 10. When I don't, I'm unable to connect 10 times out of 10.
Having said that, lately a change in the gateway configuration in my area has lead to a situation where the connection drops every few hours anyway... so it's become increasingly difficult to justify going through this "fix" just to avoid buying my way out of my Orange contract.

What were your settings mister? I'm using a belkin router, but it was having none of it! THese are the settings that i use for pppoa. If i change to pppoe, it will ask me to make sure my MTU is below 1492, so i insert that number and then apply it. Connection is then dead though.

Elhana - It's not recommended to post an image containing your username, if you're sure then by all means edit this post to display it once again. I would recommend obscuring it from the image if you decide to do so.

Oh I don't doubt that it does work for some people, just that it's important to point out that it doesn't help everyone. This does however point to some underlying problem.
