just got a livebox, its all connected properly (I'm pretty sure of that)
I can get the @ light flashing slowly
but then when I click to set up a wired connection it runs through what looks like the whole installation, then tells me the setup failed to install all the components and that I should close all other progammes and try again
I've yet to get past this, any ideas?
Forget the CD, try opening 192.168.1.1 in internet explorer. You want to get a status page, click the link, username and password to get in are both "admin". Once in to into:
My Services > Internet
You can then enter your Orange username and password. As long as the @ light goes solid after you've done that it should be all setup and running.
If you can't get the page what does it show next to your local area connection within network connections?
the page didn't load :\
in network connection under LAN or high speed internet?
it lists a Local Area Connection as connected and that's all

It's ok, thats exactly what you want it to be. Go back to network connections, right click the local area connection and select status, go into the support tab. Let me know what it says for address type and IP address.
Ok there's the problem, it's been previously set to an address that won't work with the livebox, it's pretty easy to fix though a little deep in the options.
In network connections right click the local area connection and select properties,
On the general tab in the list box in the middle highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) make sure not to untick it,
Click the properties button,
In the new window select the automatic options for both IP and DNS,
Click ok then close and wait a few moments.
You should then see the previous details I asked you to check change to "assigned by DHCP" and "192.168.1.xxx" last number will be somewhat random.
Then you can either run the CD or, the quicker option, just follow the instructions in my first post.
