I'm on the £20.00 Orange Broadband. When i first got it, the speed went upto 4.5mb at offpeak times but droped to about 1.5 at peak. I though this was ok but recently (few days) my speed has droped bellow 512k constantly.
I have called Orange for cancellation and they dont even have a 14 day cancelation policy unlike most other isp!

How pi**ed off am i. Rang technical support, first time i told him "slow speed", he read from a script about some nonsense and said 24 hours blah blah i cannot help you further, good bye.
I rang again later and the women walked me trough setting up the connection. I thought this was normal procedure so went along with it, finally she says excellent you can get online know. I said that was not my issue! Oh sorry she says, what was your issue. I told her, then "helo" helo" sorry i cannot hear you. Line Dead!
I tried again and this guy was helpfull. He told me that 5 days after everything was set up, my line testing had begun! I asked him why this was as this should have been done before! He culdnt give me an answer so i said fair do's, we will see what happens after this period of testing. Hopefully ill be bakc on the normal speed i was getting!
Ok you're on an ADSL Max connection. The speed you get is estimated by BT before it's put on, it can be different, sometimes very different to whats stated, both higher or lower.
For the first 10 days after the first connection the system tests your line to establish what it's stable rate is. This allows it to set what level, for your line, would be classed as a fault. It's pretty normal during the 10 days for the speed to fluctuate quite a bit and to get disconnections, it should really steady out after that time is up.
Now onto those stats and the speedtest result. You're sync'd a nice and high 7648, fairly close to the maximum and your line stats seem ok.
But, you have interleave on, that could be down to a prior fault on the line or the system detecting some instability. Also your profile is 135, extremely low, normally it would only drop that low if it got some really bad low sync connections, again pointing to instability.
If it is stable then it should go back up within 3 days, but the 10 day testing period can mess that up so you'll need to at least wait out that time and recheck what things are showing.
