It was only after i got of the phone to Orange that i realised in is impossible to get 7.9mb. My ip profile has gone up from 6.5mb to 7.0mb

Test1 comprises of Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
IP profile for your line is - 7000 kbps
DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8096 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 6421 kbps

If you wish to discuss these results please contact your ISP.

If you are experiencing problems with specific applications, servers or websites please contact your ISP for assistance.

well since my previous post of showing my speed had gone up about a day or two later its been sat doing ever since

this is getting midly irritating i have to say

p.s this is not during peak times i expect it to be slower due to the load.. this is all the time.. no other isp ive had gave me such p**s poor speeds

A pure speedtest only gives half the story.
What do the line stats and IP profile from the BT speedtest show?

My speed is still all over the place Orange told me to do a speed test every 2 hours and they will get back to me in 2 or 3 days it's now 6 days and I'm still waiting on them to phone

I am having the same problem - my line is active for 8 meg connection but I am currently only receiving 1 meg at the best. Anyone got any suggestions? I have been in contact with Orange and they are performing a line test but what else can I do?

Hi trev159 if you do a speedtest every 2 hours and write it down then when you phone for your line test results you can quote the time and speeds.
ps what are your line stats

My line is capable of 8128kbps down and 288kbps up. I have been doing speed tests constantly over the last month and the quickest down speed I have achieved 1018kbps. Orange have said today that there is a fault on the line and that BT are looking into it. Really frustrating as until about a month ago i was getting speeds of 7785 down.

I think your 288 up speed indicates your on a llu exchange

local loop unbundled. Orange put there own equipment in your BT exchange. the up speed of llu is 288kbps BT use adsl max with the up speed 448kbps

I'm still getting crappy internet speeds so last night i sent a complaint to ispa i will now wait and see what happens
