Well after watching BBC watchdog last and in state of laughter as his excuse's "the service has improoved within the last 3 months" i beg to differ my connection problems started within the last month
the Max speed ive ever got so far from Orange 8meg within the last month is below
the lowest i got was saturday 17th march 2007 upload speed of 300 download speed of 96.. its always comical when ur upstream is faster than your downstream. if Orange do not pull there finger out and sort this connection & speed issue then i will be switching to Pipex and have notifed them [i feel sorry for the Orange call centre workers having to put up with all the greif they must get from angry customers when its not their fault there company is full of morons not knowing what to do
I've split your post from the LLU Speed thread as the upload speed shows you're on an ADSL Max connection and not LLU.
There can be a number of things that effect the speed of a max connection, it would be helpful to post your line stats along with a speedtest and profile information from the BT Speedtester site.
I also have slow adsl max speed in the morning 7.30 am i get 6mb but as the day goes on the speed is up and down 10am about 900k then 2pm 2.5mb last night at 8pm i got 96k
Well from those stats you're line seems not bad although interleaving is turned on. Do those stats change at all and have you got your IP Profile from the speedtest site? Not all provide the profile, BT's one is pretty good for that though.

DSL connection rate: 448 kbps(UP-STREAM) 8128 kbps(DOWN-STREAM)
Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 6633 kbps
if not then i appologise since all this is fairly new to me
upon doing all the above i also did a speed test again and heres the results
thats the highest its been in months.. did someone in Orange geta kick up the backside

Well that looks pretty much perfect for your connection. Just keep an eye on things but ideally it should stay high.

Hmm well the profile, as Hardyz got is the next info you need really. I don't know myself of any other sites that can provide it. Orange can get this info from their faults system and in turn log a fault if needed, running a test on the BT site would be useful though as BT can check the results and it gives you the profile you're on so you can find out if the connection's been limited somehow.

Well a certain degree of speed dropoff over the course of a day is normal due to peaktime access, congestion on both the ISP's network and the internet in general.
Hi Elhana last night at 8pm my speed was 96k i phoned Orange today and she said something about congestion on my line they are doing a line test and i have to phone back tomorrow
I just had phone call from Orange they say BT did speedtest on my line and they get 7.9 mb 7.5mb 7.7 mb 6.6mb quoting me times and dates.I now have to do a speedtest every 2 hours for the next 3 days and keep a record of it and they will get back to me. there is no way i can get 7.9mb i am to far from my BT exchange the samknows site say i am 3.22km the highest speed i have ever got is 6.2mb
