am on Lark Lane, Liverpool but live in the 'Royal' Exchange area. The BT guy showed me physically where the royal exchange box was, yet he had to travel 3-4miles to the exchange I am connected too!!
You guys are flogging a dead horse with this one, there are national issues with the LLU system and speeds, and in Orange speak 'there is no timescale for a response'

Yes could be, but I bet Orange wish we weren't flogging it.
Request to make this a sticky. I feel this post is an invaluable piece of information, as we know Orange has not released information regarding what exchanges have LLU and what speeds they are providing, or the extent to which LLU is covering.
This post serves as an indication of what service someone is likely to get if they connected to a particular exchange. As/when/if an exchange gets 'Upgraded' and higher speeds are obtained, the exchange info can can be updated accordingly, and the list could serve as a rough idea as to the frequency of upgrades hence an un-official timescale.
Sedgley exchange downgraded to LLU last week. Connected at 6646 on livebox, download speed is 2.5 meg max. Got an email from Orange saying 2meg is the most I can get.
"Hello
Great news, we've finished making the changes we emailed you about and can confirm that the fastest speed we can give you is up to 2.0 Meg broadband."
I moved into a new place and got Sky broadband. That's on there LLU exchange and connected at 8046 and download speed is nearly 7 meg!
I was upgraded (excuse me while i pmsl) to 8 meg 2 month ago on my local exchange, and my latest speedcheck reads 0.6meg. Orange say i should be getting 4.5 meg but a neighbour that has Talk Talk has nearly 7 meg, so who is right? I am sick of complaining to indian call centres where the operator is sorry, and is going to help you with your problem. Tomorrow night is the night i was promised my full speed for and if its not there i will be requesting my MAC code and will be moving elsewhere,as i cant even stream a video from you tube at the minute its that slow. Can you get out of a contract due to the service not giving you what it is stated to do.?
Hi,
Been getting crap speeds (300kbps) on Orange 8 meg (£19.99 package) since early Jan 07. Had the usual Orange 'merry-go-round' on their call centre/technical support line several times.
I'm on Batley exchange west yorkshire, and it's LLU, approx 700 metres from my house, probably should be getting around 4.5/5meg. Contacted ISPA on 9/3/07 to lodge complaint about Orange. The response time to this should be 5 days. I Did not recieve any reply from Orange but on the 18/3/07 speed jumped to 2500kbps!! (still way off 8000kbps)
Before you get excited it has steadily dropped in speed to about 900kbps now but the point is that maybe if more of you guys complain to ISPA, we have more chance of getting this sorted for everyone.
Hi! Regarding my previous post Feb 26th 07 about Batley exchange.
Orange stat's after upgrade to llu: DS, ave. 310kbps. US, 240kbps.
CHANGED ISP 10 days ago, DS: 2850 kbps US: 384 kbps. Steady connection so far. I think my line's capable of 5500kbps but I'm happy with this compared to what i've been gettin' this last 6 weeks.
Same monthly fee, same house, same modem, same PC, no alterations to settings, same wires from telegraph pole. Didn't want to move ISP, bit of an inconvenience but well worth it. Flying now.
BM.
