I just joined this forum so I could have a rant! I'm on the old 1 meg thingy for £17.99 a month. They didn't even tell me I could have 2 meg or better for the same money. Evenings and weekends it's impossible to connect, and on the rare occasions I can connect the connection is dropped almost instantly. Computer has been set up and checked by an IT professional. BT tested the phone line. Connection is instant and bandwidth excellent at quiet times on the day.
I'm in the process of leaving Orange. I'm not interested in going through basic checks, like is the computer switched on? Are you at home? Have you fed the dog? Is there milk in the fridge? My O/S is Lynux so tech support hid behind that as a reason for not helping. Anyway, what can they do? Are you actually going to speak to someone who can fix this Local Loop Unbundle thing? Nah. Will you be able to squeeze some hapless technician by the testicles 'till your internet connection is restored to it's former speed? I don't think so. Don't give them the chance to put it right, coz they can't. Get your ass out of there as soon as possible. Hit them where it hurts, in the wallet.
Well done. Orange somehow seems to think suffering is acceptable. They've done themselves no favours and their brand name is being quickly being associated with liars and thieves.
Rotherham call centre were great, totally understood my reasons for leaving, didn't threaten any cancellation charges or anything like that. Were happy to sort me to leave.
Don't get too excited, I asked for mine on Thursday morning and I'm still waiting. I know they have five working days to provide it but...............
they certainly keep you hanging on!
If you've been waiting that long I suspect there may be a problem. I requested my MAC last wednesday 14th to be sent to my Yahoo email. Was still waiting for it so checked the Orange webmail, which I stated I didn't use, and wahey, there it was sent on the 15th , f****ers couldn't even send it to the right email. Mind you, guess it was to be expected. I've just sorted migrating to newnet, 1 month contract and accept LLU MACs at no charge . Almost free, I can hardly wait!
You were right, they have a record of my phone call but none of my MAC request. Put in another request first thing today, told I should have it later today, guess what nothing so far!
My word against theirs, just have to wait see. Hope it doesn't take long as I want to take advantage of BE's signing on offer.

Aah, the sweet smell of freedom. My Newnet account went live today and download speed averaging betmeen 5 & 6 meg, never had that at any time of day or night with Orange. I had to make one call to newnet cs and entire duration of the call was 4 min, to an english guy who knew what he was talking about. Back to surfing as it should be
Get out as soon as you can, orange should be shut down!
Already signed up with Be, just waiting for Orange to email me my MAC code.
I like the sms txt alert to say i've signed up btw.
Funny, as I was chasing my MAC code today, the people seem strangely polite, if not the politest person in Orange i've ever spoken to.
When asked why I was leaving and if there was anything they could do to keep me as a customer, I said, even if Eric Abenseur (sp?) took me out for dinner and paid me £100 a month I wouldn't stay with the joke known as Orange
