orange you are a disgrace.
I'm not here to encourage people to leave Orange however if you can show that your speed is this low over a week - no matter what time of day - Orange are clearly in breach of the contract.
They have no option to let you leave whether your contract has expired or not. You should not have to pay to leave nor should you be expected to give 30 days notice.
In fact if they are in breach of contract you could go to another ISP and take Orange to County Court for the extra it has cost you to obtain the service that Orange promised at a cost of £19.99.
Just thought I'd give you a little update as I was one that after going onto LLU I was getting between 5-6 meg.
Well....
That changed dramatically. I then started getting well under a meg during peak times and not much better during the day and weekends were a total no-no.
I have however noticed a marked improvement over the last week as I am getting a steady (here's that old number again) 2.7 meg no matter when I'm on.
Ok, I'm not happy as I was getting 5-6meg for a couple of weeks after the changeover but if I stay on just under Three meg I think I might be able to stick it out til my contract ends.
well I don't know what they did. They sent me the dreaded LLU email and for a week after the "upgrade" I was 5-6meg and then dropped down and now seemingly pulling back up again.
I noticed the Orange Home Uk thing as well....I do have to say that when I was getting the 5-6meg my ISP was coming up as Eclipse UK or something like that which confused me a little
So cable and wireless are or were Orange .Orange say i am on the llu with a sync speed of now 608 from 6336 which it synced at when given up to 8. i requested to go back to 2 meg , they said my line could not handle 2meg though i had it for over a year.this says,i am on the llu.so what am i on? Bear in my mind they said they will not put me back on adslmax plus i just posted the speed to show what you can get on llu i had those speeds at peak times when they put me on up to 8 meg,i am past caring now i'm just biding my time until BE get her in a few weeks.

Congratulations, you are in a broadband enabled area.
However, your line is currently unbundled by an LLU operator such as Be, Bulldog or Easynet (SMPF LLU). Moving to another provider may require a cease and re-provide, which may result in loss of service for up to two weeks.
The following services are available in your location:
BT Wholesale ADSL
BT Wholesale ADSL Max
Bulldog LLU
Sky Broadband / Easynet LLU
Tiscali LLU
Telewest Cable
21CN PSTN migration due Jan-Mar 2009
21CN IP migration due Jul-Sep 2010
Please select the options on the left for more information about broadband availability at your location.

Cable and wireless or who Orange use for their non LLU products, and it looks like Telewest / Blueyonder / Virginmedia or whatever theyre called now are avaliable in your areas, i would recommend going with them, cable tends to be a lot better than ADSL
when downloading my speed is 21kbs a second when im supposed to be getting an 8 meg connection should i phone up and complain i ordered my livebox on monday 26 feb could it be theyve not unbundled my line yet any comments appreciated.

Simple answer = No!
I understand why you would ask for this but we feel that it is not necessary to keep emailing our registered members. Most people receive enough email without us adding to it! And PMs send out an email notification so we do not do that either - and we will not tolerate the over-use of this system by members!!!
Joined Freeserve in 2004 on 512 package, upgraded for £20 to 1 meg in August 2006 was thinking of upgrading again in November when Orange said I could handle 2meg for another £20 and heard about the new packages and got the 'good news were making changes' e-mail so went to unlimited.
Still stuck on 1 meg told by 'overseas' tech support that their LLU server installed in my exchange was only capable of 1 meg, told by UK TS that that was rubbish and as BT said I could get 4.5 meg then all I had to do was to call back and ask CS to upgrade my speed. CS then say that I am on the max my line will support and now blmae BT saying that BT provide them with the details of what the line will support and at 2km from the exchange(cable, 1.83km as crow flies) this was what was reducing my speed.
