Got my MAC code off Orange last week and now have a BT home hub sat in front of me.
I feel like a new man , a man not held back by chains and cages ,a man that can now play pro evo online at peaktimes
No more 300kps at 7pm now its 4333 kps at 7pm with an upload speed from BT greater than my download speed from Orange
Dont know whether your in Manchester or not but if you are i know how you feel with regards to speeds.
Like you i've had enough and cancelled my contract yesterday, and guess what they also told me i had a line fault, the fact that they regraded my line down to 2 mg was the final straw, they tried to offer me my £27.99 p/m contract for £12.99 p/m but even that reduction is not enough...they should be paying me.
Only trouble is i'm not sure which Isp i want to go with, Sky or BT.
Sky have obviously got the edge over BT due to the cost per month, but can they deliver the service ?
I am out of contract yes. The rep i spoke to was not bothered in any way when i told him my reasons for leaving e.g. Lack of service, poor customer service, slow speeds.
I have to abide by the 30 days notice so i cannot use another Isp until 6/4/07......worth the wait in my opinion.
A little tip for those who want to be free, Orange have been previously refusing to give MAC codes to those in contract. This is illegal and policy has now changed you must be provided with a MAC code if you request one. This does not release you from your contract however but I would let them try and take you to court in many cases they would not have a leg to stand on.
