After hearing endless problems of delayed MAC codes and Orange simply not giving them out - it seems Orange have seen sense.
I phoned up last night for my MAC code and actually got through to a person in the UK within less than a minute of waiting. I asked for a MAC code and after explaining that I intended to move to Zen - I was passed onto someone else (again in the UK) and she asked whether I wanted the MAC emailed or posted. I asked for the quickest solution and was told that it should be in my email inbox within 48 hours. Hopefully this will be the case when I get home tonight or at the latest tomorrow evening. She said the MAC would expire within 30 days.
Finally, it seems that Orange have got the message that they must supply you with a MAC code when you request it - no questions asked.
Hurrah for whoever brought the MAC enforcement into action.
To be fair this is a common problem between Isps, and I see it regularly from a number of ISP not just Orange. The other common problem is Isps not accepting each others LLU MAC codes again not an issue confined to Orange
Actually i didnt say it was only confined to Orange, what i said was "they have a habit of giving incorrect MAC codes" ....
I am only here to comment on Orange and their lack of service being provided to their customers. If this problem relates to other ISPs then perhaps the people who use them ALSO need to complain?
I see this phrase used quite often as an excuse for one ISP compared to many. Its like saying 'we know we're bad but so are all the rest'. Well lets all wallow in the same bucket of sh*t.
I totally agree with tvman. ISP's like to make claims how their services are better than others- better prices, better speeds, better CS. Yet when things turn to sh!t they want to all join hands and sing from the same hymn sheet- as if these problems are acceptable just because its happening 'everywhere'.
Oh i agree, when push comes to shove the majority or ISP's will probably only blame each other, however my only concern is Orange, they are the ones who screwed up my Internet connection and they are the ones who refused me a MAC, they are the ones who then charged me for something they admit didnt and STILL doesnt work...
so as far as i am concerned i cudnt give a stuff about any other ISP until the day comes when i have to use them. As far as Orange is concerned that aint a bucket or a skip we are talking about its a bloody OCEAN.
They deserve no customers the way they treat people and i will fight them all the way if i have to, even if it is just to help and assist others who no doubt will be following me down the very same path in future due to the incompetence, and lack of knowledge that Orange provide.
