I have an Orange BB account on the LLU system with about 10 months remaining on the contract. Ive been looking for a way to get away from Orange since being migrated to LLU, the reasons you already know!!
I pay the £19.99 a month bill by direct debit from my account. The account is in the name of my EX-girlfriend. Just called customer services and they say that if I send off a phone bill proving my name and address they will close the account. They said that they cant take the £146 required to pay off the contract from my account, as I am not the account holder and it wouldnt be fair for me to pay for a service that is not in my name.
Should I do as they say and hope that my EX doesnt get chased/blacklisted for the termination of the contract??
As you are not the account holder they might not and should not provide you with a MAC. Your only option will be to get the account cancelled and the tag removed from your line so you can start afresh.
Yes, they did say that I wouldnt need a MAC code. I would have to wait 5 days for the account to close then 10 days for the line to clear. Do you know if the account holder will get blacklisted?? Thanks Paul
