I registered with wanadoo 2 years ago around january and everything was perfect, Never had one problem with them but it all changed when Orange took over .
Ever since Orange have took over my internet has been disconnecting it has been EXTREMELY slow and laggy (When I play a game called Runescape it freezez like every twenty seconds then loses connection to the game) I am not happy with it. Any-hoo last night I downloaded a new driver for my modem then about 15 mins later my net disconnected, Modem was 2 solid green lights then red flashing light for a second then repeated.
I re-installed the modem with the disc i got from wanadoo two years ago, I thought great its working again but then I went to connect and it said my username or password isnt recognised on the server it was the same as it was before it disconnected , My mum is gonna phone Orange tonight.
I have been with freeserve for 8 years yes long time i know
but even with Orange a far better service then AOL.
my users name and password were coming back as not reconised i had to unistall belkin router unistall freeserve and start from scratch
install the old freeserve copper jet modem then shut down and reinstall the belkin router.
The DNS codes for Orange are 195.92.195.94
195.92.195.95
I installed a Vista PC this week and Orange Broadband with 8mb. After an initial problem with the connection not being activated, this morning I'm getting the same response as above. A quick call to Orange resulted in being told that the line had been disconnected and would take 5 days to correct.
I don't reside in the UK and this install was a favour for a friend, is this kind of problem now widespread? Is 5 days to re-up a link normal?
Years ago I worked in a networks environment, to enable a link it was a simple click of a button, not so now it seems...
Sounds like it's simply been denied access from part of the system. It can be reactivated immediately but it's temporary and isn't supposed to be done as it causes further problems. As long as it is this it has to be passed to another team to find out why it happened in the first place. No point reactivating it if it's going to do the same thing every few days or whenever. 5 days is the normal timeframe given but it's purely a a guideline and not usually specific.
