Some companies, including Orange don't actively advertise their LLU presence. There is no publicly available list of which exchanges are LLU'd so all the data the checkers use is manually added when they know about it. If nobody's told them it's available there then it won't list is as being available.
well ive just got off the phone and guess what ..................................
yeah thats right ive got to wait another 24 hours as the so called engineer is looking into it as its been escalated and the engineer will be working on it and reporting back to them today by 11pm.
oh joy i have got to phone back tomorow

From another newsgroup:
Orange have admitted today that they have a major problem in that they cannot provide speeds of more than 2.7 - 3.00 on LLU at the moment in the majority of exchanges. They cannot give a date when his will be fixed, the problem appears to be all over the UK.
Slowly they are admitting they have a problem.
I would suggest that the speeds over 3 on the poll are from people on Max.
what keithwjones says makes sense to me from my experience. have a line that the Orange speed test says is capable of 6 to 7 meg, am 700metres from the bristol west (llu) exchange and have never got more than 2.6 on a speed test (that was at 3 in the morning) during the evening or at the weekend it hovers around 1 meg.
my numbers are posted below....
ADSL firmware version : A2pBT009c1.d17d
Connection mode : G.DMT
Type : Fast
Noise margin (dB) : 8.9
Attenuation (dB) : 26.0
Attainable download rate (kbps) : 8992
ADSL status : Connected [0]

Hello chaps, i have never got past 608Kbps and have been with Orange with there mobile phone and broadband since they took over from Wanadoo.
I am on there 'Max' package with no up load or down load limits.
The exchange i am connected to was suppose to be up graded last November (2006) and i was supposed to be up graded to a 8Mb connection but nothing yet.
I first had a broadband account with Freeserve and they where taken over by Wanadoo and then by Orange, so it looks like i have had Three ISP's and never changed provider if you get my drift ?.
The bottom line is this, i am paying for a service that is supposed to be ''Up to 8 megs'' but in truth, it just over 1/2 a meg connection.
Sorry, nearly forgot.
I live in Upney and its in a town called Barking in Essex so i am not too sure what exchange i am hooked up to but i have been told that i am on LLU.
