I have managed to cancel my Orange Broadband with no problems whatsoever - it is dead simple to do IF you can actually get a connection.
I used 72gigs bandwidth in a month and got a warning letter saying I need to lower my levels. I then clocked up 102gigs last month (left it running downloading loads of movies/videos etc) and got another letter saying my service would cease in five working days.
I rang the Orange line to get my MAC code and was put through to the Indian Office staff who asked why I wished to cancel. I said I had no choice whatsoever as I had a letter saying my service was going to be cancelled due to high useage. He put me through to the Rotherham Office. Spoke to Joanne who said there was no need for a MAC code as it takes five days to come through by which time my line was going to be freed up anyway. I cancelled my DD so as not to be billed again by the Orange Team and my line was freed and I am now (ten days later) with another ISP.
Incidentally, use this number to get a direct MAC Code if you need it as I was put on hold for 30 seconds (0870 1900672).
Absolutely flawless. You can send me Paypal donations as a way of thanks.
What genius!!!!!!!!
However it would probably take the length of my contract to do this as i can only stay online for a maximum of 5 minutes at a time........
