My downstream has always fluctuated wildly since i upgraded to the 8Mb service last November - once it even dipped below my fixed upstream speed, and was only 343Kbs.
I used to get random disconnections after upgrading when using the Speedtouch modem(with high speed driver),but this obviously doesnt happen now using the livebox.
Anyway....i have just had my highest reported downstream using 2 different speedtesters (thinkbroadband and speedtester.BT) at 6680Kbs.
I know it wont stay as high as that for long though.

Just checked up on my exchange and it is Max - also states that LLU is not available.
Now i just need to find out what LLU means.
Life is not that simple - Orange do not publish details of where they have LLU.
LLU means very slow speeds.
Just tested mine on LLU:
Download Speed: 2059 kbps (257.4 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 206 kbps (25.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
This is supposed to be an up to 8mb service.
Simple way to tell if Max or LLU is Upload speed.
LLU is 288 Max is 448
