In the last two months I have been experiencing severe problems sending emails and the support from them has become a joke. Using Outlook (not Express) the system was fine when it was Freeserve. Then Wanadoo got their hands on it and the system became more unreliable. Since Orange started the reliability has become even worse. Apart from the severe reliability issues (mainly when sending) the fact that Orange don't support Outlook but only Outlook Express has become a serious probelm for me as I run a small business from home. Since most people these days have MS Office at home as well as the office why not support Outlook? It doesn't make sense.
I have 4 x POP3 accounts and cannot use any of them with Outlook. Since I also have a XDA mini which synchronises with Outlook and not Outlook Express adding to the inconvenience.
I have finally given up and cancelled my account. I have got my MAC code with the intention of joining EasyNet with a smooth uninterupted transfer. Guess what. Easynet will not accept the Orange MAC address for compatability reasons. I have to completely cancel my account first before I can sign up and wait 14 days. I have no wish to use webmail for 14 days whilst I wait for Easynet to start up the service. The only way around this is to get a new telephone line which I don't want and certainly don't want pay for.
Can someone please suggest an ISP that delivers good service, supports Outlook fully and will accept an Orange Mac Code. If they accept fax and convert to email as well so much the better.
Sounds like you're probably on Orange LLU which severely limits your choices for using the MAC code. Zen, IDNet, Be and others accept them but you're better off ringing round to check they can support all you need as most have to sort things manually so only accecpt those codes over the phone. You may also want to check for business broadband services as they have certain standard levels and are much more likely to support Outlook.
As for the fax to email service, you may need to look around to get that seperately as personally I've not heard of ISP's doing that.
