Hello, I have been tackling my issue for 2 weeks now and I am getting really desperate so please, please help if you can !
Basically, my airport is NOT picking up my Livebox at all. Automatically, or if I create a new location etc.
I have followed the bramley apple link posted several places on the web, but no joy. I have mannaged to get an airport signal twice before, restarting the livebox etc, but both times got asked for a WPA key, with no option to change. At the time I was told that Livebox didn't support WPA, only WEP. Seeing as I couldn't input a WEP key into the WPA field, I decided to sart again. Since then, I have managed to find out that the WPA key is the name of your box. i.e:Livebox-????, then the last four digits.
I reset my livebox and started fresh, up to now I haven't been able to get airport to pickup the livebox again. This is very frustrating as Orange don't have a clue about Macs, Airport, etc.
Anyhow, I've a G5 iMac, running OSX 10.4, airport card didn't come standard, purchased new form the Apple store and installed with no isues using the CD supplied.

Hmm could be a faulty airport, livebox or just really bad interference on the current channel.

The livebox uses WEP and WPA, and can be set to each individually which often seems to help with wireless problems as many things don't like it's dual system.
The WPA key "is" the WEP key, as with the security system the key serves a dual purpose. It is confusingly marked WEP key though.

They're just not trained in Macs or how to access and use airport.
First thing I'd recommend is a wired connection to try lowering the security to WPA only and change the channel before trying to reconnect.
