And I mean constantly. I only got the Livebox last week, connected it up, and waited for the broadband to be "turned on" on the 9th October. All is fine, the livebox starts off doing what it should, and I'm online all evening. Ace.
Then the evening of the 10th, I have some downtime, the little red lights on the livebox start going mental, and I cant connect to the net, I try the "Configure Livebox" thingy, and it says "Synchronisation in Progress" and then after the lights flash a bit more "PPP in Progress". Then after a short while, it'd say "Connected to Internet" and display my IP address. Then it'd work for a while, could be anything from 1min, 10 mins, 1hr but then it'd start again.
Then yesterday, I get a call off my dad, who's trying to connect to the internet at home, I asked him what was up, and it was exactly the same, only it was now synchronising literally seconds after it connected, and cycling through this every minute. I told him to leave it for a while, but it was still doing it when I got home, and continued all the way through til this morning when I left for work.
I spoke to Orange last night, 4 times, and they ran me through a factory reset of the livebox, and checked my connection from their end. they seem to to think its because I am running the livebox upstairs, plugged into a phone line extension cable, and that I should connect the livebox to the socket where the main cable runs from (easier said that done, as its in the hall and there's no plugs even near it).
I've been told that I'm connected with a 6mb connection, and I know it works as I was online all evening on the 9th October, so I just wonder why it has started this synchronisation/PPP thingy.
any help or comments would be appreciated.
I know its supposed to be free (my sister has an Orange mobile) but I still expect it to work.
