Hi all, any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
I signed up with wanadoo 8mb broadband starting May 2006, and have to move out of my flat next month into a house that already has wireless broadband - so i want to cancel. I've phoned up to ask and they said that i have to pay the remainder of the 12 months in full (or find someone else to take the contract over).
As i signed up with Wanadoo and not Orange, can i get out of the contract legally?
I'm simply not paying the remainder of the contract, and don't want to have dept collecters on my arse.
When you signed up you agreed to the contract which is for 12 months so your probably not going to be able to get out of that.
They changed the terms and conditions I believe either in may or a bit before to allow the name change, if it was after you signed up then you've technically agreed to it by still having the account open and it's pretty much too late to argue that point.
hmmm, i'm still going to just cancel my account and be a pain in the arse. I think the whole 12 month minimum term is the most annoying thing. In a situation like mine, I'm screwed! Well we'll see what happens. I'll keep you all informed.

You are legally liable. You cannot just walk away and forget it. Some time in the future you will need credit to buy a car or a mortgage to buy a house and thats when it will all catch up with you. It really isn't worth getting a CCJ over this, which is what will happen if you default on the agreement.
f**** em! Orange b******! All Orange like and slimy
I should've gone stuck with Virgin who don't tie you into a 12 month f**** contract. I tried to at first but they didn't accept maestro cards over the phone, so i went with Wanadoo. What a mistake! Now i have to pay 8 months for f**** all. I know I have to pay, but at least on here i can vent my spleen! f****!
Thanks for the feedback, but that's what Orange told me. This is like an Orange helpline/moanline. I didn't take out the deal with Orange, and havn't signed anything with them. Surely there's a way out of this
any legal type people out there, that are not Orange employees?

You asked for a 12 month contract with Wanadoo, now you're swearing and being unreasonable. Is it just for effect, or do you really lack basic principles of logic and enjoy being a tit?
It seems perfectly reasonable to me that you agreed to a 12 month contract and Wanadoo/Orange are honoring that. Seriously against morons and f**** how can a company like Orange win?

Orange cant win?? try telling that to the thousands of people without broadbanmd and still having to pay for it They win everytime take your money on a 12 month contract when you have problems they do nothing because they know its going to be difficult for you to leave Yes Orange can and do wiin.

It's for effect pearly, and it does help if only temporary. You should try it you self righteous little kn ob.
I do have basic principles of logic, but what i'm annoyed at is the fact that the only offer they have is a 12 month contract, when in reality people move house, and situations change. Now i have to pay for something i'm not using which i'm sure you agree is slighly frustrating (!!!!!!).
Funny thing is, after having a little f u c k i n g rant on here, my broadband is now not working - coincindence perhaps????. So is this website owned and run by Orange who can access the ip addresses of posters and follow up? It would appear so, or maybe i'm just being paranoid.
Either way, I've been offline for 3 days now, and the problem won't be fixed till Thursday. TBC...
