So what is this place?
Who owns it?
Who manages it?
Whose ISP hosts it?
Is this really a place set up BY Orange JUST for people to come and whinge while Orange staff loll back on thier chairs giggling at what people are writing?
Unless some of the Orange tech and customer service monkeys read and reply to the posts on this site, then the answers no, Orange have no input, same as thousands of other forums dedicated to problems with large corporations. What's the problem exactly? Personally I've found some of the information on here invaluable when dealing with the very shabby 'technical' support and equally shabby customer 'services'. I'll also be back posting if my now reappeared broadband connection doesn't speed itself up anytime soon.

There may be some unofficial input here by Orange staff - but this would be in their own time and any input is not officially endorsed by Orange.
A little bizarre - well, if you read the first post (by myself) you may see why I set this website up. In complete desperation at the failure of (at the time) Wanadoo to resolve my issues with them - this site was originally WanadooProblems.co.uk but is now OrangeProblems.co.uk
Due to the number of Wanadoo/Orange customers that were experiencing similar issues (i.e. poor technical and customer service) the site has remained in existence and, I hope and am sure, has helped a huge number of people, either with setting up their Orange broadband, teething problems or with avenues that customers may take when Orange appear to be fobbing them off!
This has only bee possible from the input offered by various members who have contributed a huge amount of their time to this site. All unpaid and completely voluntary. It has also become a huge resource for those wishing to learn more about ISPs, how they operate and the technical issues surrounding this technology.
Hope this clears things up!
I see that you have contributed some information for others - thank you! All these little bits of information are useful to people and they will, even if they do not register to show it, appreciate your comments.
Thanks Kevin,
Congratulations on what you're doing and trying to do...
I thought it was a little ambitions of me to hope that someone from Orange might actuallt come forward and explain why for almost a year now, there have been ridiculous delays on email posting on SmartGroups.
Or maybe that has happened here? How would I find out?
Is there a way - apart from reading all the hundreds of messages - that people can find explanations or feasible reasons for problems such as the smartgroups one?
I'm just completely baffled as to why Orange haven't come forwards to explain in detail what's going on and what they are doing about it.
I presume that the spam problem hit everyone, not just smartgroups, but that when wanadoo were taking over, they must have know then that a further takeover bid was in the pipeline from Orange, and presumably with all that internal turmoil, no one is going to be investing loads of manpower & money into an email group spam problem.
I'm just hoping that now Orange are starting to settle in, they might inject some money & resources into solving this problem.
