I've had my old laptop connected wirelessly to my laptop since I got the Livebox, although I remember it being a pig to do then. My PC is connected with the Ethernet cable.
However, despite hours spent trying, I can't connect my boyfriend's new laptop to it, all I get is a continuous 'Acquiring Network Address' message, or occasionally 'Limited or No Connectivity' where an IP address hasn't been assigned.
I've tried:
Matching the setup to my laptop
Reinstalling the livebox connection setup
Changing the security settings
Changing the channels
Disabling the Firewalls
Checking the WEP key is correct
The laptop will connect if I use the Inventel adaptor that I got with the livebox so what am I missing in terms of setup with the wireless in the laptop that prevents connection?
Please help.....
Having spent another few hours with it today I have now got it to connect to the internet by enabling the WCZ to manage the Wireless connection instead of the Wanadoo software.
I also changed the security to none on the Livebox, but I don't want to leave it like that.
However, it disconnects after 5 minutes and then I have to mess about trying to get it to connect again. And half the time it displays Not Connected, yet it is. I don't know what's going on....
