OK heres my problem and im stumped, my emails wont download from the webmail server, some do but most dont, its bee happening for about 5 days or so, ive checked all my settings on outlook and also on windows live mail and the are all correct. as an example today 3 emails have made it to outlook but 13 have remained in webmail, no error messages are appearing im completely stumped, if anyone has any thoughts please let me know
I've been having the same problem since the middle of last week except none of my emails will download. They won't download to Outlook on my PC or to my iPhone so I suspect a problem at the Orange end. Trying to email support resulted in a link to the FAQ page on setting up Outlook email.
I set up a new Outlook account and that downloads emails ok, so it must be something to do with what keeps track of where existing accounts are up to. I've tried putting outlook logging on and that shows no detail of email items being exchanged. The new working account shows details of old and new emails on the server being exchanged and the new emails being downloaded.
I tried deleting and recreating one of my existing accounts but that still won't download new emails.

@MoDeCr having the same problem, I only get a few emails downloaded the rest go to the webmail inbox, even had Orange tech support, take over control of my pc and check all the sttings.
Everything was fine my end and I even configured other email clients on various computers with the same result.
As I can pick emails up on the Orange webmail they have washed their hands of it, saying the don't support 3rd party email clients and wouldn't escalate it to the level 3 tech support.
I spoke to them today. They wanted to check my email settings but I told them there was nothing wrong with my email settings, they hadn't changed, the problem was at their end. Someone is supposed to be calling me tomorrow.
I have the same problem. Suddenly last week all my Orange emails stopped downloading via my Email clients (outlook on Windows, mail on MAC OS) but were still there on webmail. No changes have been made to my email client. I could send to other people from POP clients and they received them OK. I had 2 email aliases and messages to either would not get downloaded.
Tech person took over my PC, checked all settings (agreed they were all OK) and eventually said it was a problem with my PC settings (?) as the emails were there in webmail, so said it cannot be a problem their end.
I checked all the obvious things (leaving a copy on the server, not deleting them after a length of time), tried changing the password. Tried setting up account from scratch again.
My last effort has really made things worse. I deleted both aliases associated with my main email address through the account settings in webmail. I had hoped to recreate them, but it says they are already allocated (to me presumably) and suggests other variations of them.
After this, when I sent an email to one of these original aliases, the message bounced with unknown recipient (as it will now be to everyone currently sending to me). I should have left the aliases, at least the messages could be viewed in Webmail.
I've emailed Orange twice, apparently my query is being looked at (within 48 hours).
I'm stuck until I can get my aliases back, but am sure there is a problem with some registering of which emails have been downloaded (on the Orange server side, as my other non Orange emails are still being downloaded to the same POP client).
I had the same problem, emails to my main account uploaded to outlook without problem. Emails to my secondary accounts stopped uploading erly in Dec, now they just sat in webmail.
Spent more time on the phone to Orange customer support than I care to admit but eventually came up with a patch.
Create a new outlook account for each additional address
My account is with orangehome but guess the same will work with Orange wanadoo or freeserve just adjust the mail server address
In outlook email settings try:-
USER NAME – your mane
EMAIL ADDRESS – secondary email address that will not upload.
USER NAME – email address again
PASSWORD – original password for main email account.
INCOMING MAIL SERVER – pop.orangehome.co.uk
OUTGOING MAIL SERVER – smtp.orangehome.co.uk
Things don't change.....whether it's Wanadoo, Orange or EE the email servers have always been problematic.
I use a variety of server addresses and usually one works. Currently I'm having no problems with pop.orangehome.co.uk.
Unless things have changed then all the email server URL addresses are interchangeable i.e. you can use wanadoo or orangehome and they will resolve. At command prompt type nslookup pop.orangehome.co.uk and it will resolve to the same as pop.wanadoo.co.uk
You could try using the actual IP address eg 67.215.66.132 in the Outlook account setting.
Exactly the same problem here. All four of the devices I use to access email now fail to download messages to their email client apps. Nothing's changed at my end so it has to be at their end. I suspect it's something to do with the migration to EE Broadband. I've emailed Orange Support so we'll see if they get back to me - and woe betide them if they suggest it's my configuration. All four of my email client apps wouldn't go screwy at the same time!!!

4. If possible, please see if the problem occurs using another PC /
different internet connection
I already stated in my email to them that I use four different devices to download emails and all of them have ceased to do so. Don't these people read emails? It's clear to me that the problem lies at their end - particularly as others have also recently started having the same problem. All was fine until EE came along.
got exactly same problem, has anyone managed to get this resolved?
if i send a mail to the main account one it does download it only seems to be the alias i created that i can't download.
I just re-checked after reading your post and that's exactly what's happening at my end. I only use aliases and not my main address so didn't notice before.
I'm getting nowhere with Orange Support via email and I'm not going to call them at some exorbitant cost per minute for them to have me doing all sorts of useless tweaks. Fortunately this is only a secondary email account so I can live without it.
called them about 4 times and each time they look at my PC settings etc.. i keep telling them its their end but to no avail.
anyone know another number to call their customer service to make a complaint?
well i finally managed to get my e-mails to download again no thanks to Orange support.
on your set up details to download alias e-mail address you created you need to use the alias e-mail address as the username and not the account user name that was created when you opened the account by Orange.
however my rule to leave some mail on the server for different alias do not seem to work anymore fix one thing brake another .
