I have been with wanadoo for a while now and had no problems with my 1mb ASDL connection. Since they have changed to Orange i am being constantly dissconnected.
I connect using a speedtouch 330 modem, when i am connected i am being constantly kicked off (sometimes after 2mins, sometimes 5mins, sometimes i can be happily connected for 2+ hours) randomly kicked off. The modem them flashes for a while before "greening" up again allowing me to reconnect (only to be kicked again soon after).
I was just wondering is anyone else experiencing this at all?

Hi
Are you on 8Mb connection now as you will need to upgrade the drivers from here High Speed Driver ( to 8MB) or check to see if you have the latest drivers if you havn't already.
The link is for the Speedtouch 330.

Check to make sure you have the latest drivers when i used to use that modem i had to do 1 upgrade , on the same link theres a utility DR SpeedTouch thats usually good to make sure the modem is working ok if alls well at least you know its not at your end.

I've just used DR Speedtouch diagnostics. It reports 3 ticks to Computer, Modem and ISP and the error comes against the internet connection and prompts me to check my proxy settings. All my internet options settings are correct as far as i can see.
Do you think this could be Orange trying to cut thier bandwidth during peek hours (i.e. it won't allow me to be connected more than a couple of minutes between 7pm and 11pm).

Sounds like its Orange there is a couple of people on here that might reply when they see this also try the forums on these sites ADSLguide and scroll down to the Orange forum and DSL ZoneUK some techies there.
Good Luck

Yes, unless you have a local problem, the 55dB line attenuation tells me that you are about 4kM or so from your BT exchange as the line flies and that your downstream ADSL signal to noise ratio (10dB) was satisfactory at the time it was measured. (It's worth checking this at a few times, especially after dark as it can reduce dramatically on long lines after nightfall).
Those stats tell me that your 1Mb service is probably about the best you will achieve with reasonable stability and there may be little point in going for ADSLMax.
If you have a two-part BT socket, (NTE5) it is worth removing the front to access the line socket directly, (this disconnects the extension wiring), and checking your stats with the adsl connection made directly to your line socket. This will eliminate any effects caused by the extension wiring.
Lion heart, dump Orange. My connection disconnection have steadily got worse, yes I do have the new drivers which did cure the initial disconnections back in June but it is going from bad to worse again.. I'm booked up for TalkTalk and am just waiting to move over. They may turn out to be crap like Orange but at least I wont be paying £28 for it.
I am having the exact same problem. With me though, the modem is fine until I actually come to using the internet. For example, if I left it for about 5 hours and it disconnected along the way, the lights would still be green when I checked back, and would only go to flashing when I came to use the connection.
I've tried the latest drivers and that didn't help. I've downloaded the 8mb driver and it's gone once since then. What does my nut in about the 8mb driver though is that I've done a simple bandwidth test on a number of different sites, and I'm getting anything from 400kbps to 600kbps, which is ridiculous - I've been on 1.1meg since I can remember.
We've been waiting for Sky to get in touch, so we can finally end this hellish time we've had with Orange. Honestly, we've been loyal customers since the Freeserve days - first getting dial-up in 2001, and have had little if any problems with them or Wanadoo. Since it's become Orange it has been downhill and I can't wait to get rid of this shoddy service.
