I have been tricked into a new contract and can't get out of it.
I phoned up to get my MAC code as I was wanting to leave Orange having been with them since 2007 I was asked why I wanted to leave and told them it was cause I was able to get Fibre in my area! I was wanting to know when my contract was up which I was never told and whilst one the phone I was being told that I would be able to get Fibre with Orange/EE very soon so there was no need to leave, I said okay I will look into it and left the call!
I then found out from EE that Fibre wouldn't be available for a long time in my area as I'm in a small town, I then phoned Orange back to tell them this and to my horror I was told that I had singed up to a new contract, the sales person never mentioned a new contract!! I was so angry about this as I had waited until my contract was up. I was then told that I can phone back tomorrow and as I was within the cancellation period I could opt out. So here we go I phone back to get out of this and I get told I can't cancel cause I'm not a new customer!!
I'am very annoyed about all this, I have been a loyal customer and was wanting to move and to be tricked into a new contract is shocking. I do not know what to do and feel like just leaving and Orange can go looking for there money!
Can anyone please advise on the best thing to do as many phone calls I'am getting nowhere!
Request a transcript of the telephone conversation in which the new contract was requested and agreed.
If they are unable to produce evidence then there can be no new contract.
Hi thanks for your reply, I done this but they said the aren't able to provide the transcript! Just my luck to be honest.
I cannot believe that I'm stuck in a contract with a max speed of 2MB when Fibre broadband is available for me to order now!
If they can't provide proof that you agreed a new contract then there isn't a new contract.
Many ISPs claim that they are unable to provide transcripts of phone calls but be assured there is always an audio record if contractual terms are being discussed.
Call their bluff and insist on proof that a new contract exists.
