I am trying to do an important job from home which involves send and receiving many e-mails. The system has worked fine for a long time but I has recently been made aware that many annoyed people are not getting my e-mails. I have tried using the 'reply' facility to take out any errors in my address book (I have checked the address book and all the addresses are correct) but some of the intended recipients don't get any e-mails others get some and some get every e-mail. All very confusing. Any suggestions please?
from many years bitter experience, it may well be that the non-arriving email has either been completely blocked by recipients ISP or it has been consigned to 'junk/spam'. Despite years corresponding with the same people, there would appear to be no rhyme or reason to the repeated occurrence of blocked email - other than that Orange has been blacklisted again due to the amount of spam originating through them.
I think most Orange email users have been driven beyond bearing by this - in self-defence I opened a 'hotmail' account where I can at least advise people if email going astray - AGAIN!
Orange appear to be unwilling/unable to address this well-known issue.
Since my first post I have been on to Orange many times! They acknowledge they have a problem with out going e-mails and they are 'doing everything then can to resolve it'. it only appears to affect certain addresses, in my case .blueyonder and .hotmail but others seem random. When I asked for a refund for non-service I got told to get lost and to keep trying until the problem was resolved! They acknowledge there are too many people affected to tell everyone! How many Orange users are still oblivious that there e-mails are going nowhere? I'm now dealing with all my important mail by the good old Post Office at least I have a 99% chance of it being delivered unlike Orange!
unfortunately - 'doing all they can to resolve it' - has never been known to actually result in an improvement to my knowledge. Many Orange users have suffered with the same problem - there is an enormous volume of frustrated correspondence under 'email' to this effect.
It seems to be intermittent - it gets better for a while, then the problem happens all over again; I also am currently corresponding with some business contacts and am sick to death of sending follow-ups bleating 'did you receive last email'. The answer is sometimes yes and frequently No.
The only reason that I have not changed ISP to be honest, is because I can't face the hassle, I don't know if any of the competition is going to be any better, and where we live, there is absolutely no possibility of better speeds. The recent email from Orange announcing an upgrade and improvement to the service was greeted with a hollow laugh in this house - since when the service is distinctly worse.

Continuing my attempts to sort out this very annoying problem I phoned Orange (5 Aug) and got talking to some dude in India (or wherever). This was after my systen had completely failed. No e-mail, no Internet connection at all! Usual tests on my Livebox to check it out which kept coming up with 'PPP server down'. I asked the guy did he not know if his own (Orange's) server was down. He didn't! After a 67 minute phone call he decided it was my BT phone line that was at fault and arranged a BT check on my line 2 days hence. He did nothing at his end.I had already checked with BT and they reckon the line is OK. Checked the system this morning (6th Aug) and the system is now working! and I have sent several e-mails and they have got through to people who weren't getting them before, Is it working or just part of the intermittent nature of the probem? Incidentally, phoning Orange again this morning (6th Aug) one of the options acknowledges they have a problem with e-mail and don't phone unless its urgent! That wasn't there a few days ago! Maybe they'll do something now!
