Hi, mostly all has been well since October.
Apart from that now seemingly on one particular site only the videos won't play when at one time they did.
According to the stats:
The connection required to experience content the best is: 333,1 kbps
Network/internet connection is 125,8 kbps
Content currently being received at 64,0 kbps
Yet all other videos elsewhere seem fine.
Speedtest results:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 5725 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8096 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7000 Kbps
Any ideas what the problem could be and how it could be resolved? Thanks if so. I know it can sometimes depend on the demand for the content itself but seem to be getting the problem (buffering mainly) all the time now for that one particular site even at hours when I wouldnt think many would be logged on.
Theyre on igb.ie (its a greyhound racing archive) but you have to be a member I think to access them.
Their helpdesk said I should contact my provider as it sounded like a speed issue though if that is so why can I watch all other videos elsewhere perfectly well?
I know for a fact other people are watching them fine on IGB though as I have enquired on other forums.
The thing that puts me off contacting Orange is having to speak for a long long time to people reading off a script in India to get my point across so if anyone on here has a good idea of the problem I would be very grateful, thanks.
OK thanks borednow, if there is an Orange rep on here who could suggest a remedy feel free to post.
I think the chances of a postitive resolution on the phone lines (at least to a normal call service operator) would be exceedingly slim having to explain about one particular site and so on.

There is no remedy....the BT/0range broadband package manages P2P traffic.....there is no alternative other than another ISP who doesn't operate traffic management of P2P.....and those ISPs are now very few.

Apparently, Be is the only one I know of that doesn't traffic manage.
Just to update, I finally found a solution to this (after about 2 or 3 months!), just switched off the Livebox and left it off for a few hours, then when it came back videos on that site played just as well as anywhere else - all very odd!!
I had tried this method previously but only unplugged it for a couple of minutes so thats probably why it didn't work that time.
Just thought I'd update in case anyone else had a similar issue though not sure of the logistics of why etc...
