My experiences:
5 years of trouble free connection with freeserve
Orange 'kindly' increase the speed of my connection (I didn't ask for this)
Connection is now rubbish (it holds for no more than 20 seconds at a time)
I try to move my account
They won't give me a MAC code 'cos i have 'the wrong kind of account'
The man in customer 'services' in India repeats my problem back to me Three times (I know what the bloody problem is, I told him in the first place)
I look on their website for the name of a single director to elevate my complaint to. I can't find a single name. Are there any human beings at Orange?
I think Orange are acting fraudulently in that they are not providing the service I pay them for. Will the little man ever be able to afford to sue them for being s**t?[/list]

Hi there
Of course the little man can sue the big PLC...
All you need to do is go down to your small claims court and take out a summons against them. If it is not rubbing salt in the wounds, you can go on-line to do this.
look at http://www.hmcourts-service.go.../index.htm
If you have suffered any loss and they are in breach of contract then for a small fee you can sue the pants off them.
I reckon by the number of reports in this forum there could be few legal jobs going at Orange if anyone is looking for work!
They are also legally obliged to provide you with a MAC key when you request it.
You probably will not get them on fraud charges but you should get a result for breach of contract.
Put your claim in writing - send Recorded Delivery. Give them a specific (reasonable) time to respond and if you do not get your refund consider the small claims court.
Forget the legal stuff; the best bit is getting them where it'll hurt most and bad mouth them across the web for their terrible service. I find this kind of consumer backlash to be far more effective then any other kind of action. I and all those like me who have constant swipes at Orange, must have cost them a pretty penny by now and and I don't feel like letting them off the hook anytime soon and I left months ago.
Magnify that dislike by thousands across the country and you know they are in for hard times.

I reached the end of my patience with Orange last week and requested a MAC key to allow me to migrate.
It has not arrived as yet and they cannot tell me when it will be received.
Having absolutely no trust left for that organsisation I have today telephoned to formally cancel my account.
This way they will acknowledge the cancellation by email and within 10 days they should remove their marker from our line.
After all, what is another 10 days when you consider how long Orange mess people about.
Anyone who actually puts up with all the grief we are getting from Orange deserves a medal.
I really do not know why I waited so long to give them the order of the boot.
