Well I have had a good run, good connection and speed. On Weston-super-Mare exchange Up to 8 LLU. Speeds above 6. Using Livebox and the talk phone.

Yesterday Livebox started rebooting itself. Stats remanining constant:

ADSL firmware version : A2pBT009c1.d17d
Connection mode : ADSL2+
Type : Fast
Noise margin (dB) : 9.3
Attenuation (dB) : 38.0
Attainable download rate (kbps) : 7659
ADSL status : Connected [0]

Downstream Upstream
Rate (kbps) 7627 605

Not seeing this reported as major problem so I had better start looking at filters, psu and Livebox.

Held up most of the morning but has just come up with theses stats:

ADSL firmware version : A2pBT009c1.d17d
Connection mode : ADSL2
Type : Fast
Noise margin (dB) : 14.8
Attenuation (dB) : 37.0
Attainable download rate (kbps) : 5532
ADSL status : Connected [0]

Downstream Upstream
Rate (kbps) 5495 440

Are they changing the connection?

Now changing between ADSL2+ and ADSL2 with similar stats as above, depending on which one it is.

Looks like a noise problem which the ADSL2+ DLM is responding to by dropping the profile.

See your SNRM has increased from 9.3dB to 14.8dB ?

I'm presuming that it is changing between 2 diiferent types of connection. This has been rock solid since just after LLU came out.

When it started rebooting SNR kept coming back around 9. Only today have I seen 14 when it goes to ADSL2.

On a very noisy line the higher ADSL2+ frequency tones will be dropped from the bitloading and ADSL2 should automatically take over to keep the connection.

If this has happened then it was a fairly massive noise incident.

Now been on for over 9hours.

For info I have not changed or checked anything at this stage.

There seems to be an ongoing LINX (London Internet Exchange) problem which is affecting a lot of ISPs.

It was corrected on the 8th but seems to have re-occurred again from around 11am today.

It may be the cause of your problem.
