For past few weeks now, orange broadband keeps disconnecting. it's becoming really annoying, as the connect is rarely even on now. Have spoken to Orange and aparently theres no issues with broadband and it's 'our' fault.
Anyone else been having connection issues? I'm from Glasgow in Scotland
I have been without connection for 6 weeks. Their tech support initially told me that my line is faulty and needs to be fixed by BT. But for several weeks the best they could do was that the problem has been escalated. As I got fed up and wanted to cancel they told me one day, "hang on, you have been fed wrong information" that the problem is that I will need my speedtouch modem replaced by the livebox for the same fee. I reluctantly accepted to give that a try.
The livebox turned up 8 days later. I couldn't load the livebox software because I was unable to click past the "next" button. It just wasn't "clickable" for me. Again, I called them up and was glad when they helped me got it working through another method. I was relieved. Sadly, it was short-lived. A few hours later, I could connect but I cannot access the web or check my email.
I called the tech support again. One very irritating thing though is each time you call, they will always initially ask you if you have other problem they could help you with after you've told them your problem. And I'm like p**s off - solve my first problem first before asking for another!
Anywayz, I have finally run out patience and have asked them to free my line so that I can sign up with another provider. Basically, I have asked that they cancel my contract and they threatened me as in the past that "I'm still under contract" and will debit the balance from my account. As they are unable to provide me with a service after 30 days, surely such contract can no longer hold and be binding?
At this moment, I'm gearing up for a showdown with them if they have the effrontery to debit my account. Infact, I am expecting them to make a refund for charging me for the services they have not rendered. I have spent so much hours and money calling this a******.
Kazmack, all I can say is that the deterioration of my service started that way until eventually I could only connect for a few seconds at a time and then get kicked out until no connection at all. You will probably need to start plotting your escape from them.
Any advise on how to fight them to get my money back will be appreciated assuming they carry out their threats.
no! it's fine. I know how you feel. I tried phoning tech but they never even answered for us, and we were having to pay money on phone bill when we we'ren't getting though.
If you don't need a MAC code and are out of contract and have no outstanding money owing them then they cancel you off within 10 minutes. And you speak to someone you can understand.
yep im not under contract cause ive been with them since freeserve days. i'll need to convince my brother to phone up and cancel it, seeing as its all under his name
