It is advertised that there is PUSH email when you sign up to Orange with the HTC Mozart (running windows phone 7).
I have been on the phone to Orange over and over to try and understand why I cannot set up PUSH email. When I text 247 as instructed and receive a link to Mobile Email the link just takes me to a page on #### which says:
"Sorry, we don't recognise the URL you have used"
Basically it is a dead end system that doesn't let me set-up Mobile email.
I finally got through to someone at Orange who said the service has "been a bit dodgy for a week". But I feel like I need to throw it out there as I don't really believe he knew what he was talking about and maybe there are other people out there with a similar problem.
Does Mobile Email work for anyone?
Is it specific to HTC Mozart?
(I should make it clear that I can set up my emails in the phone but not with the Orange servers so that I get them 'PUSHED' to my phone')
I'm starting to regret joining Orange, I was on a Blackberry at o2 (now Sky) for two years and never had a problem. Two weeks at Orange and completely let down.
But I've been tolde over and over from Orange that I am supossed to be getting push email. I specifically asked when I was joining and they said it was PUSH. I is meant to be part of Mobile Email - on their site you can see whether mobile email works with your phone: http://web.orange.co.uk/p/web_...email/home and when you select my model it says it works.
As far as I can work out 'mobile email' is their equivalent of the blackerry internet service, which pushes the emails through.
Any help?
I'm desperate!
thanks

Push email is provded by your email provider, like gmail for example. I doubt Orange provide their own push email as it's quite resource intensive.
Sign up for gmail and set it up on your phone, you should then receive any emails sent to that account instantly.
They are false advertising!! It has never worked for me, same issue for the last 5 months!!!! Spoken to arrogant to customer service people but they say "well!! it's not gurranted to work" what a joke??
I'll be surprised if it has worked for anybody because many people don't use it.
I think we should get more people make comments here and then contact Watchdog, OFCOM, advertising agency to make Orange to compensate us!!
Orange - a complete waste of time and money!!!

What is the current situation of the problem?
Did you get told that somebody would contact you from Orange??
Is that's the case that don't bother waiting because you won't hear from them!!!

I'm not waiting to hear back. The last bit of info I got was I managed to get through to a 'technical guy' who said they're experiencing technical problems and it should be up soon. SOON! it is so frustrating, especially when most of the Orange staff I speak to don't understand what Push email is.
What handset are you on? Because I thought that was my issue and if I used a friends handset I'll be able to set it up. I haven't even set it up. It sounds like you've set yours up but it just isn't working?

I must inform you now that this service doesn't work at all!!! I've spoken to 20 different customer service people who don't know what they talking, spoken to a manager, somebody from executive office (continously for 3 weeks). I was doing this from aug to sep but they are so laid back and have no interest in solving the issue. the excuse i got that this service is not gurranted to work. I said that I'm paying for this!!!! so I'm going to cancel my contract but they allowed me to cancel push email service from my account as it is £5 per month.
This service doesn't depend on handset, all you need is wap and mms, which any handset would do, now a days!!
I'm in the same situation, I've not been able to setup the push email thing on samsung wave, nokia x6, htc wildfire!!
They don't know what they are talking about and it'll never work unless somebody solve the issue!! I'm not trying to put you off but its the fact because it's been going on from day one of my contract i.e. since last 5 months!!!
Well that's pretty depressing. I'm going to print this out and make a quick screen capture video of their site saying they have push email and video of my phone not working. put it on a DVD and post it to them 5 times.
Maybe excessive but will hopefully save time in the long run!
I miss my blackberry

Would be very interested to see what response you get? Send to their executive office address, who are just as bad as customer service but you get a better chance of response.
I don't know if you got anywhere but I had a phone call from so called "data support centre" saying that they have made a lot of changes and everything should be fine!!!! what a joke? Two people rang me different days saying made a lot of changes asked me to follow the usual procedure for setting up push email.
Surprise surprise, doesn't work at all!!!
The person who rang yesterday said "oh!, made a lot of changes at the back end of push email service but he doesn't know why its still not working and he will give me a ring shortly!" Never heard from him again!!
Lie lie all the time rather fixing the problem and this is after 5 months of wait!!
Moral of the story, never Orange again, I think would be nice to pass this to watchdog, OFCOM!!
You could just sign up for a different email account that supports push like gmail, you don't need a pointless £5 bolt on to support it. Why on earth would you want an Orange email account anyway?!
Thanks but point is that I've non gmail accounts which I would like to use! Push email is advertised to work with non Orange email accounts as well. That's what they advertise!!!!
I had push email working on my X6 for a month, then it stopped working and was told via an email via nokia that I had to pay for any futher useage. I rang Orange and they didn't know what to tell me. Eventually one of their staff told me to completely remove the email software from phone, download it from Ovi install and use again, which I did for another 30 days then it locked me out again! This time it won't allow me to use the push email. it will only set up a mail box in my messages.
