I have only just discovered this website.
I find reading the posts like being in a support group - i thought that i was the only one having serious problems with Orange:
No broadband since 13th July
44 calls to customer and technical support - 10 hours in total on the phone
£30 in phone calls
I finally left Orange broadband yesterday (31 August). They didn't give me a LLU MAC because they said i didn't need when signing up to new ISP although sites such as BT are still asking for them. It will apparently take them 10 working days to clear my line (although i'm not holding my breath) - once this is done - will i still need a MAC or will i be free to go anywhere i want.
Once your line is clear you can go to any ISP you like. LLU MAC codes aren't like normal MAC codes, only a limited number of ISP's accept them and Orange no longer give them out now. I believe it's mainly because of the hastle they cause and 99% of them probably never get used and the account is then just cancelled anyway.

They do still give them out but you have to be persistant its a load of rubbish they are just making it more difficult for people to leave, very soon they wont have a choice they will have to give them out .

Maybe but at the moment if you ask for an LLU MAC code they, by default, will say no. This doesn't effect IPStream MAC codes.
You do understand that the IPStream MAC code system is voluntary, although most ISP's do go for this as they see the advantages. I'd expect Ofcom to make it compulsory at some point but as LLU migrations are so much more complicated I wouldn't expect that they add them in for sometime yet.

Can't be complicated to make up any old 6 digit number then prefix it with LLU.
That's all Orange are doing at the moment...and that's why NONE of them WORK.
If ISPA cannot resolve this today gonna have to get Orange to get their s#it off my phone line
