What a great website, just came across it.

hope someone knows the answer to this one.

I have a desktop pc connected to livebox by ethernet, I was hoping to also connect a laptop to livebox wirelessly. (It already works if i swap the ethernet from the desktop pc) but i want it wireless from another room.

I can make the laptop say wireless is on, but not the livebox, I have no buttons on my livebox at all ? ? (for pairing etc) as shown in the instructional diagrams)

I have tried putting in the 16 digit wep code when the laptop prompts for a key but it will not connect

I wanted to get this one set up and also my downstairs neighbour was hoping to piggy back on the internet using wireless - is this a bad idea in terms of security, will my broadband speed be affected ?

Appreciate any help

under the live box there are 2 buttons number 1 and 2 hold down number 1 for about 5 seconds then go back to your laptop and try connecting

that did the trick, simple but effective, thanks very much.

Now just need to apply same to my downstairs neighbours

is this a bad idea ? ? in terms of security, will my broadband speed be affected ?

Any idea ?

Purely from a security view, it's not good to allow anybody, outside of family, access to your connection.

As regards non-security reasons, how will you control their use in terms of FUP....both yours and Orange's.

It's your choice but unless the neighbour is totally 100% trustworthy, I wouldn't contemplate it.
