I have been with wanadoo for a while but for about a year now have not been able to connect. Contacted Orange and they went through the same crapq, where i spoke to someone who could barely speak english either! I get full green lights, but... when i try and connect, it says connecting to server, complete; verifying username and pass, then says the server did not respond - no connection..... i have tried updating the drivers, to version R3.0.1 i think, from multiple sites but no use.... any ideas? also, should the user name have @FS on the end because that seems really strange to me.
Yes, your username has @fs (in lower case) at the end..it indicates that you are a freeserve domain user(originally Orange was Wanadoo and before that Freeserve...next? Who knows)..
As for waiting for a year to get connected??? I must congragulate u on your patience

I havent actually got it with me but im sure it was 0621. The "helpline" said it was to do with my settings and "guided" me through the "correct" setup, which ofcourse did not work.... Any ideas?

what i was told on the helpline is that it is losing something somewhere between the modem and pc, so its the usb.... but i have tried and treid again with different drivers to no avail. Has anyone else had this problem?
error 621 seems to relate to a network problem rather than username problems - you would get "invalid username or password" if that was the problem - but it seems something else is the issue as it is not getting as far as authenticating you.

An out-of-memory error occured. "DNAS Error (-621) A network error has occurred." Please double-check your network connection and/or network configuration.
are you now on "upto 8meg" speed so have installed the hi-speed drivers?
so you have a USB modem and are on Win XP? when I was getting failures to connect I was advised by Orange Tech Supp to reset the TCPIP stack by clicking start then run and entering netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt and ENTER and to be fair that did seem to do the trick. This just resets TCPIP to the state it was when XP was installed - it may work for you as it may have become currupted somehow over time.
Yep, tried that, i found that on the web somewhere, although the version i was told on the phone was slightly different.... neither seemed to work though
