This upto con has been going way too long, I was mulling this over and I don't know of anyone that gets 8Mb - yes I know its not attainable and is the theoretically speed the line could handle, if, it had perfect conditions but still most people get approx half of that, so technically you are charging for 8Mb but only giving half.
Maybe I should do the same, charge for a full job but only do half, anyone think that is reasonable?
I see the same thing in car parks, pay for an hour, do your thing in 20 mins, what no refund, what why can't I give it to whom ever I want to utilise what was paid for. yadyada, but I digress so back to BB.
I fair system would be to pay for the speed you get, the faster the speed the more you pay. As of now I'm on o2 (now Sky) and I get approx between 4-5Mb of an "upto 8Mb" package. If I didn't have the o2 (now Sky) phone as well I would be paying £12.00 pm but I'm only getting approx half of what I'm paying for. My sister 15 doors up can only get a max of 2Mb which, considering today's standards it crap, at her shop with a new telegraph pole installed (idiot boy racer decided to try and * people by driving like a twat, fortunately he hit the telegraph pole. unfortunately he lived, natural selection failed there.) Anyway she can only get 512Kb now and they have just dumped BT for basically being morons and not quite grasping the concept of Old telegraph = 3Mb, New Telegraph = 512Kb something is wrong scenario.
For all the people on an upto 8Mb tariff one should pay for the speed you get, I think the average line rental for such a tariff is approx £12 so £1.50 per Mb obtained?
