Received from Orange Help on Saturday when I still couldn't get e-mail, in answer to my question as to why there was not a service status page on the website...
"We do provide a system status telephone service that advises of issues
that may be occurring with any portion of the Orange service. We're
unable to place a message on our webpage as this deters customers who
may be experiencing problems with their email account due to different
reasons, from contacting us."
I don't follow their logic. If there's a serious problem, then a status page would be the first place to check before phoning.
"Unable"? Is there really a technical issue that stops them doing it, or should the word really be "Unwilling"?
I read into their message, "We don't make a profit from putting a message on the website, but we do from all those 0844 calls."
