I been with Orange since the early days of Freeserve and have a 2mb account, although I reguarly get 5mb; my line is 8mb.
Every now and again my Wanadoo/Orange broadband just goes to snails pace. I ring them up, I complain, I threaten to cancel......... whoosh it works!
Was sitting watching iplayer this morning and my connection dropped to 0.32 mb and hasn't got any better. So I rang, went through the normal crap with the Indian call centre, who just wanted me to upgrade my package! or sit and do speedtests for 24 hours.
As per usual, "put me through to cancellations" and spoke to someone in the UK who has promised to send me a new livebox which was released 6 days ago and full supported by microsoft for XBOX (?).
From anyone's experience does this work? I'm getting to the stage now where I might have to pay double, but at least the internet connection will not crawl along and my daughter will be able to use her Youtube.

Out of curiosity go to the Sam Knows Broadband website & check your exchange for availability of LLU operator presence.Here:- http://www.samknows.com/broadb...nge_search . If 0range have equipment there it might be worth upgrading to a 20meg package if available. This is not without problems but once settled it can be very good. Mine gives me a consistent 14.5meg.
There's a BT website that'll do a speed test & provide details of your connection which may help us help you. Here:- http://speedtester.BT.com/
As for the Livebox I've no idea as I won't use mine , much preferring my quality Netgear one.
Let us know the exchange code you get then we can also see what your options might be.
