Just wanna ask, is anyone suffering slow connections with their "up to 8mg" line or any other line as a matter of fact.
I finally went live on the 09/08/06 with the broadband max package, thinking i will get great service from Orange just as i did from Wanadoo couple of years ago... Up until now, i've not been able to play my online games without suffering from online lag spikes lasting for 5 seconds (tried and tested with 3 online games) every 1 minute or so. i cant download a 5mb file without having to wait XX minutes where the download rate just drops from 2XX -> 1XX and ends up at ~50kb/s or so and even worse if i use Bit torrent to download the latest episode of Bleach anime and now i wish i should of stayed with Bulldog :'(
Having asked Orange to do a test on my line (two days ago) to see if there is any problems, i still haven't recieved the results of the tested line apparently "we are waiting for the enginneers to report back", "call back in 2 hours", "call back tommorow, we will have it by then" and blah, blah and BLAH. im no expert but i dont think it should take two days and counting to see the results and not being told about the progress of what ever is happening.
I also asked the people of Orange, if, im still getting the same level of service after the testing i want to cancel my contract even though its only been 21 days or so. They said it's fine as long as i pay off the rest of the remaining months of the minimum contract.... What the hell man, why should pay £27.99 a month for connection that is probably equivalent to 512k or less! They say yes but what you signing for is "up to 8mb" connection not a 8mb connection :@ :@ :@ even so, i shouldn't be recieving a connection as appalling as this, i KNOW i can support at least 4mb, as that was the the previous connection i had on the same telephone line and on the same router set-up. So why the poor quality of service im getting?! "Lets just call back tommorow when we will have the results" :@

Thanks to whoever reads this, i just needed to get this off my chest! Is there no way to back off from this contract, it has only been 21 days or so, and although they state on their website "up to 8mb" connection, i find it inappropriate to give me a level of quality equivalent to i say 512kand try charge me £27.99 for it, even though my previous ISP was bulldog 4MB which i had no problems with at all. brilliant speed, no hiccups or downtimes (i originally was moving to a different place)
