I can't actually say I'm singing their praises but when I first got broadband they were very helpful when the call centre was oop North instead of somewhere below the equator. The hardware they supplied was crap but they admitted that straight off.
I'm on the 2Mb service now and it's been largely painless. A colleague subscribed to Bulldog for the 8Mb service and it took well over 2 months to get it up and running correctly, so I feel kinda lucky really.
Hope you get your problems fixed though, I would hate to be without my broadband.

I think the Livebox is OK... apart from sometimes appearing to shut out one or other of the computers on the network (cycling between our PC and two Macs as it feels like).
Setting up broadband for other people, I've found:
Pipex don't provide a service, charge you as if they are, then have more inaccessible and grumpier tech support than Wanadoo (got to give them credit, that's hard to do!)
BT responded to a request to sort a line out (problems caused by a BT engineer's botched job *inside* someone's house) by sending a wireless router - er, we can't get the broadband service, what use is the router!
I've dealt with NTL for dialup, and although some people swear by them, they take so long to do anything, and the only route to a call centre is calling up the headquarters and demanding to make a complaint!
(I'm sticking with Wanadoo, for all their faults)
Good things about the Livebox:
1. Security is enabled by deafult (apart from its WPA security being totally screwed up)
My service has been alright as well. I have been on their 2mb since last june. The onloy complaint is that download speeds are sometimes 2kbps. Now I have ditched the livebox and gone for the Linksys WAG354G everything is alright. However my mum changed us to the plus package and she wants to use the 'talk' service. Looks like my livebox troubles are going to starta ll over again.
I had a wanadoo customer service agent tell me the livebox and Talk service was crap as well. Although the livebox seemed stable oncei upgraded the firmwire(But I had already ordered a new router).
Ditch the livebox and go Linksys. Trust me it is a fantastic router.
We had a really good experience for the first 10 months, but it's only when you hit a problem that you find out how good (or bad) the company really is.
If Wanadoo could explain the problem clearly & consistently, provide a freephone number where I could get regular updates on the situation, and tell me when (to the nearest week) it would be rectified, I'd understand that problems occur and let them deal with it. As it is, I just get told there's a backlog and I should phone back in five days. It's driving me potty.
I've asked to escalate the problem and to make a formal complaint, and they can't tell me how to do that.
It's the singularly most frustrating experience I've ever had. It leaves me boiling with rage every time I try to speak to them. And when I get my phonebill and see the cost of all those calls to their "help"line... arghhh!!!
