I actually stumbled across this forum when I was upgraded to the dreaded LLU 8mg. I never knew it was dreaded, untill I complained on the Orange internet forum about my speed being BELOW dial up and internet connection dying on me for hours at a time since having the regrade.One of the replies gave me a link.
When I did visit this site, imagine my horror at the individual tales of woe, people being cacked about for weeks and months at a time. I really prepared myself for the worst. Rung the Orange technical support. Was told by the operator that the line was running really slow, but he would have all issues resolved within 48 hours. Yeah right! I thought. I've just read about dozens of poor sods being the told same line over and over; and OVER again!
BUT!!
48 hours passed. Since yesterday - My live box has been re installed, internet connection has remained stable, AND speed is back to normal.I am overjoyed, because as the title of this thread suggests, I really was looking at being pushed from pillar to post. I can't thank the people at Orange enough, for sorting my problems out as quickly as they promised they would.
Now, I know it hasn't been the same case for everyone. Maybe as Doom brain from the other forum thought, it was a period of 'bedding in' for me, where the line, live box and pc had to adjust, or maybe I'm lucky that my telephone wires were only installed 4 years ago. It could even be that I might live closer to the exchange. I don't know.
But for once I can actually praise Orange. Reason being that for nearly a year I have had really good internet service, and when they were Wanadoo (whom I chose because they were considered a reputable big company ISP). Well, its been so far, so good, fingers crossed. I only hope I don't have to contact tech support again for any further issues.
