ok, i'm currently getting 1mb from Orange, as i have a mobile phone with them and get it for free...
just logged into the Orange site and it says "your current broadband package is"
"Broadband Plus - free with your Orange phone - up to 8 Meg speed, Livebox wireless modem, Talk service and 2 GB usage guidance." ok this is slightly differnet to what the bloke said to me on the phoen when i ordered, "told me i would get 1mb with a 2gb monthly usage" fair enough,
but no logging into my livebox it is saying
" Rate (kbps) Downstream 1152 Upstream 288"
which seems like i am on 1mb, but my " Attainable download rate (kbps) : is reporting 6400"
does this mean i can get upto 6meg?
or is it true what the Orange site says and that i'm on upto 8meg, but my line can only handle 1mb?
Possibly upto 6 meg. Thats simply the livebox's interpretation of the what the line should be able to support. It's not usually exact and if that speed was put onto the line it might end up being able to go higher or not get that far.
If you're not in an LLU area then you're stuck on the basic ADSL system until around November, so upto 2 meg.
