Hi guys, Stuart here, using his working BT internet, to write a quick post about the compensation you think you will get from Wanadoo.
Wanadoo lost my internet connection back in February, and they kept stringing me along for 11 weeks. I finally got to leave when they were happy that there was nothing more they could do for me. The constant line checks and re installing that they made me do proved to have been in vain. Who would have thought.....!!!!
Because I had complied with every test they asked of me over the 3 months, they were happy to let me leave wanadoo with no quibbles over contracts. The happiness was mutual. That was a great day to finally have nothing more to do with such an awful company.......... or so I thought!
Having called the customer support line a total of 45 times during the 3 months, I thought it was only fair that I was due some compensation for the calls. I wrote a letter, enclosed a copy of my BT bill and asked for a refund of £28.61..... not a huge amount to ask for.
That letter was written on the 31st of May and as of today I still have no refund. I have written 4 letters now to Sarah Roberts ( wanadont customer care ) and todays replay states that their eventual offer of £17.00 is their final offer.
Originally they were not going to pay anything, saying it was "at my discretion to call the support number", but I was quick to point out that 44 of the 45 calls I made to them, were because I was constantly asked to "call back in an hour","call back tomorrow","call back next week".
I asked for Sarah Roberts to tell me how she had come up with £17.00 as an offer, rather than the full cost of the calls, to which I have been told in a letter today that it was a "gesture of goodwill" and that she was "unable to justify a further increase"
Considering that I am not asking for compensation for anything other than the calls, I am speechless that they constantly try to make their company look as bad as we think they are.
I am appalled with the company and wanted to pass on that even if you get out from wanadoos grip...... that promise that the customer service person give you about "yes you can claim compensation for the call" when you ask, as I did on a few occasions........ is a lie.
