Did you get a reply from Jonathan about this I had a call from someone called Jonathan who promised to sort out my problem but he didnt phone back and my account remained locked.
I use a third party email address and outlook but this morning I can't send email.
I've reentered the SMTP address, tried using the IP address, rebooted, everything to no avail.
I know it was working earlier this morning as I sent a couple of emails! Any thoughts anyone?

I thought it was just me...sigh....I'm having problems too, it won't send mail from OE under wanado, I notice the site went down too as I have it on my favorites to sign in by....wot's going on...is anyone going to help do you think?
Similar problem Im receiving emails ok but when I try to send am getting error message as follows:
The host 'smtp.freeserve.co.uk' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly.

Exactly the same as me then frostk....so it MUST be down to good old Orange....hmmm.....sigh!

I think the answer to your email sending problems is contained in the error message above. Try changing your outgoing mail server to what is currently advertised by Orange namely 'smtp.orangehome.co.uk' and you will be back in business. Orange have a sneaky way of throwing off some of the legacy smtp labels from time to time. I was caught on the same thing about a year ago.
Thanks for the tip mike but the problem eventually righted itself without me changing anything.

I guess one of the Orange servers was down.
If others are still having trouble I would recommend updating the smtp settings anyway. My wife was caught by it this morning, and had instant recovery by updating the smtp setting
