- I would like to use the new Blackberry 9700 which supports UMA services. Orange used to offer the Unique UMA service to customers who are subscribed to both Orange landline and mobile service. However, the only Unique service offering on the current website adresses business customers. Can I still get Unique on my personal contract if I would subscribe to both Orange fixed and mobile service, and how much would that cost?
A friend of mine was also interested in the Unique service, but couldn't find much out about it.
However, we discovered out that that was possible to configure the UMA settings on his Blackberry to use his Wi-fi connection - After that calls were just automatically routed through his Wi-fi netrwork when he was in range.
This was great for him as he gets a poor quality GSM/3G signal, meaning that is is actually able to use his phone at home.
We got the impression that the Unique service used to offer a bundle of minutes if you paid £5 (or so) a month, which he doesn't do, and hasn't asked Orange about. All the calls he makes when using UMA just come of his inclusive allowance.
