Was wondering if you guys could help me. I have a Orange siemens router, and the signal is great downstairs, that where the router is based, but upstairs the connection drops out. So can I get a different router with better signal range (can anyone give advice on good routers range) and replace the Orange siemens router? By doing this will it still work with broadband, or does Orange have some kind on hold setting on the siemens router which means you can't change to a 3rd party router?
It is possible to user third party routers with Orange, but you loose the 2nd line function. Also if something goes wrong, you may have problems getting support from Orange.
Some people have replaced the router, some have got wireless range extenders others have used an additional router in conjunction with the livebox.
Changing the channel on the livebox has helped some people when they get interference from other routers near by.
