Hi all, Wondering if anyone could help me here, I have an Orange livebox connected up to my xbox live via an ethernet cable, sometimes I get lag during games, I have tried opening ports but it doesn't seem to work I got told I could open DMZ on my livebox and put in the ip address of my xbox, Could anybody shed some light on this please, Thank You

More than likely to be network congestion, especially if its during peak times, in which case adding it to the dmz would have little effect.

Adding it to the dmz basically opens every port up. Do you have a sagem or inventel livebox?

uPNP can caus probs of the livebox.

if you want to try the dmz route, its best to assign your xbox a static IP on the xbox.

once you have the xbox IP address, add it here: http://192.168.1.1/router.html and click the configure dmz button.

Thank you, My xbox has a staic ip address cause it is connected to livebox by cable so that's fine, I have turned off uPnP and turned on dmz and put in my xbox ip address, and everything seems to be working fine. Thanks very much for your help.
