Is believe Orange has a problem with their security settings as Orange is refusing access to a number of websites such as halifax.co.uk, phobos.apple.com (itunes music store), next.co.uk, mfi.co.uk, thetrainline.com and presumably more but the above are the ones I have tried to connect to.
Orange tell me they are aware of the problem (actually it depends on who you speak to at Orange Tech Support, some say there is a problem, others say there isn't).
Either way the Orange guy who agreed a problem existed could not give any indication when the problem would be fixed.
I have since requested a MAC code to switch to BT but I am guessing I may have to wait a while for that!
hi i am also unable to connect to halifax on line banking i was told by Orange on monday night it would take 48 hrs to correct reading everybodys gripes i am begining to doubt them
Hi
I have also been having problems, seems i also can't acces the login part of the BT website and some others aswell as those named. Customer services have told me the usual fixes so far of turning off firewalls, well uninstalling it totally when i know that the firewall is not a problem.
i completely removed Norton and switched off the firewall protection on the livebox and can still not access these websites. And I have removed all of the latest windows updates.
I'm finding I cannot access more sites each day which is becoming a real pain, parts of BT.com, thetrainline.com, some IT websites.
I have had 4 email responses from Orange indicating there is a problem, they know about it but no idea when it will be fixed. And to be patient!!!
On the Apple forum, some people on Orange are now able to access some of the above websites but I guess it depends on what Orange server your request is routed through as people have been able to complete an IP trace and can see that it is an Orange server blocking some outward requests
i am now going through the debacle of getting a MAC code. I requested a MAC code 2 days ago.
Contacted them today to see where it was, to be told they have no recollection of me requesting a MAC code then proceeded to try and make me stay with Orange if they reduced my unlim broadband to 17.99 and got an engineer to call me back.
I don't want to stick with Orange anymore despite being with them for over 4 years, so have requested my MAC code again and I now have to wait yet another 48 hours! I'm guessing that when I call back in 2 days I will go through the same process again!
If you want to get your payment reduced, call Orange and ask for a MAC code.
We are aware of the problems with most cmrs unable to access the Halifax website. It has been reported and is being looked into. At the moment we are not sure what happened but if it hasnt been resolved as yet then it should soon be !

Anyone experiencing the same problem ?
after many 0870 calls and emails, the problem now appears fixed
I have been unable to connect to itunes or Next for 2 weeks now, however today I phoned Orange and got instructions on how to reconfigure my LiveBox and it is now working fine. So if you are using a Live Box then give them a phone on 0870 010 2462 then choose option 1, 5 and 3.
The instructions were really easy to follow - basically you set the Livebox firewall to low, set the wireless option to no security - submit the changes, restart your computer and put the settings back to what they were at originally and submit it again.

Hope this helps.
