Finally switching from Orange, after 3-4 years, since the "upgrade" to 8mb it has just been downhill to the extremes it is now.
Am going with BT, my neighbours are on it and have tested various stuff I need to use that don't work very well with Orange (certain online games and website) seems BT don't traffic shape the things I want to use - lol at traffic shaping 10kb/s online games, idiots.

Good riddance, MAC code here in "5 days"...
I wouldn't be so pleased about going to BT mate, Once you sign that contract, they own you
BT service is fantastic, and all my applications work lag free and with better pings than on Orange.
Also, the BT accounts section is so much more detailed, was flicking through, is options to request line checks - something most Orange customers will be familiar with, only it was rather difficult to get with Orange lol
For £5 more a month, better service, better router, better customer service, very happy, good riddance Orange!
I too am jumping ship from Orange after over 6 years with them and switching to BT.
Its been a mixed bag in all that time. No problems with the connection when on 1mb but problems on and off since it was upgraded to 8 mb .... sorry .. upgraded to anywhere between 1.5 mb and 5 mb depending on the time of day, planetary alignment, the weather etc etc!
Requested my MAC code the other day so will see whether they can get it to me within the regulation 5 working days.
The people I spoke to were friendly and had only slight accents so understanding what I was being told was relatively straight forward.
I was informed that I was out of contract (which I knew anyway) but only time will tell whether this remains 'true' when the 30 days cancellation notice is up.
We can't switch here because of a reliance on the static email address.
So have to deal with appalling speeds during peak hours.... pretty much the only the time the net is used. perfect Orange, just perfect.
I sent an email to that Jonathan bloke.... said there'd be a reply.... well its been a week and have not so much as a courtesy message.... absolutely bloody appalling.
Not only is this DAYLIGHT ROBBERY but they are also GETTING AWAY WITH IT despite having to answer for their CRIMES on Watchdog.

One of the things I did before leaving Orange was to buy a cheap domain name and a very basic hosting/email package from a web hosting company.
Therefore should I wish to switch ISP again it won't affect my website and email addresses.
